The season is certainly in full swing as the number of Brits on staycation is set for an all-time high this year. Our advice? Book early to reserve a table at your favourite pub!

With the half-term heatwave getting us in high spirits and summer holidays fast approaching, it’s fair to say that Abersoch and the surrounding areas of Llyn are a bit on the busy side. Thanks to Covid (not a phrase I use often) there’s actually more choice than ever when it comes to bagging some lovely grub. This is because as well as indoor and outdoor dining, many places are still doing take-out too!

However, should you want to dine inside a venue, the competition can be steep. So, to help you navigate this weird new space, and with the help of Tripadvisor, we’ve compiled a comprehensive list of where to eat below. And more importantly, which to book in advance! Check out these awesome eateries…

Where to book in advance

If you’re planning your summer stay, I’d strongly recommend checking out the below lists and enquiring at least 3 weeks before you check-in. Everywhere is filling up fast, so it’s best to be told you’re too keen than too late. The easiest way to book is by phone which is on the linked page for each restaurant. Walk-in or take away

The classic walk-in and the more recent takeaway option are our saviours when it comes to Covid-safe dining this year. If you happen to miss out on a table, many of the above restaurants offer splendid takeaway service. Plus, you have the below to try your luck on should you walk past and a table is free.

• Mananas (also a personal favourite) (takeaway from 5pm, sit in from 6pm)

• Llanbedrog Beach Bar (another favourite of mine) (all day)

• Kin & Co (all day)

• The Little Tea Rooms (was Mickey’s Boatyard Café) (all day)

• St Tudwals Inn (lunch and dinner)

• The Vaynol (lunch and dinner)

• The Creel Fish and Chips (evening)

Whenever you may be visiting this gorgeous area, I hope you experience as much of the local pubs and restaurants as you can! I’m getting hungry just thinking about them…
